The Elkhart Lake Public Library seeks an organized, innovative and community-focused individual to direct the operations of its library. This is a full-time, salaried position which serves the Village of Elkhart Lake and the surrounding area. The library is a member of the Monarch Library System.
Elkhart Lake is a beautiful, vibrant resort destination and the library is a cornerstone of the Village. The interior was recently renovated and offers a complete array of services.
Responsibilities: The Library Director reports to a Board of Trustees and is responsible for overall management of the library. Essential duties include building and maintaining the collection, managing the library budget, supervising library staff and promoting the library within the Village of Elkhart Lake and the surrounding area.
Qualifications Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree, three years of library experience and either have or be eligible for a regular Grade III Wisconsin Library Certificate. The ideal candidate shall possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in relevant technologies, and the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with the public, library staff, library board, government officials, community organizations and area libraries.
Compensation: Annual salary will begin at $40,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including: a health insurance plan, retirement plan (WRS), paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
