Presented by: Teresa Miniatt, Director
D.R. Moon Memorial Library (Stanley, WI)

Starting out in library management is a learning and burning-out journey for a new director. Sometimes solutions can be hard and sometimes they are easy. But every librarian has some experience with the “if only I had known!” feeling. Using her diverse experience in various types of libraries, Teresa will examine some philosophical and practical ways in which new library directors can better serve their staff and communities.
Teresa graduated with an MLIS from San Jose State University in December 2014. While studying for her masters, she completed internships at an academic library and at an art university. After earning her degree, she worked as an Adult Services Library Technical Assistant in a public library, and as a law librarian. She was hired as the director of Withee Public Library in April 2017 and began her role as director of the Stanley Public Library in December.
