AI tech trainers are in demand right now. Not only do the general public and librarians need to learn how to effectively and ethically use GenAI tools, but the need exists to connect with other audiences who can also benefit from GenAI training. This session will focus on how to create a template of reusable and adaptable lessons that can translate to a number of discrete and diverse audiences, ranging from undergraduate students to fellow librarians to specific professions to the general public. The session will feature brief slide-based presentations that will illustrate the different types of lessons that can be seamlessly integrated into any given session.

Kris Turner is the Associate Director of Public Services at the University of Wisconsin Law Library, where he is responsible for managing the reference and access services departments and overseeing outreach, instruction, and research support that the Law Library offers to faculty, law students, and legal researchers. Kris also works with emerging technology, having taught numerous sessions on GenAI tools and free and low-cost resources for legal and information professionals. Kris teaches Legal Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Law Practice each fall and co-teaches Advanced Legal Research each spring. Kris has served as the president of the Wisconsin Library Association, the Law Librarians Association of Wisconsin, and on various committees and sections of the American Association of Law Librarians. He has written many articles on topics ranging from space law to professionalism and was recently recognized by the American Library Association’s Library Journal as a Mover and Shaker for his work on Legal Technology.
