WVLS is awarding scholarships for member libraries to attend two conferences this spring: the Public Library Association (PLA) Conference April 1-3 in Minneapolis, and the Innovative Users Group (IUG) Conference April 13-15 in Chicago. The applications for both scholarships are due by 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13.
- PLA Conference: Offered biennially, the PLA Conference is the largest public library event in the world, where thousands of public library workers, advocates, and vendors come together for an unparalleled opportunity to learn, connect, and be seen. Valued at $1,800, the scholarship will cover registration, transportation via shared bus, lodging and an author lunch.
- IUG Conference: Offered annually, the IUG Conference consists of three general conference days, with dozens of sessions ranging from general interest to specialized topics. Valued at $2,000, the scholarship will cover registration, transportation, lodging, and the option of attending a preconference session.
