As noted in Monday Mentions, the new delivery service vendor, Purple Mountain, will begin deliveries to WVLS libraries on Monday, March 3.

Here are a few reminders and updates:
  • We will continue to use the same blue bins and tags.
  • WVLS will take care of issuing library keys from Waltco’s possession to Purple Mountain.
  • In the past, some libraries might have received two stops per day (one for drop off/one for pick up), depending on the route. Because we aren’t certain of Purple Mountain routes and our stops are not dedicated, multiple stops should not be expected.
  • All bins placed in delivery need to have the WVLS tag on the outside of the bin.
  • In the case where a library has a bin of items exclusively for one library, that bin also needs a WVLS tag on the outside. On the inside of these bins, the library should place a form  listing the intended library. This form will also indicate to WVLS staff that that bin does not need to be sorted.
  • Several Waltco drivers are taking positions with Purple Mountain. In the case that your library has a new driver, instruct them on which door they should use at your library and where they should place the bins.
  • Libraries should continue to use a manifest (attached) to record the number of bins its driver is expected to take. Drivers will be instructed to confirm the volume by placing their initials on the line for that day.
  • The new slip and manifest mentioned are posted on the WVLS website.

As a reminder, while days of delivery will be the same, we anticipate that delivery times might vary. Please be patient with WVLS and with the Purple Mountain team as this new service is implemented.

Similar to Waltco, WVLS will manage the services provided through Purple Mountain on behalf of our libraries.
Any communications and concerns about deliveries should be addressed to .
