Bridges Library System is seeking a Public Communications Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and execute activities of communicating and educating the public about the library system and member library programs, resources, and services, and provide marketing and communications consultation to member library staffs.
The individual hired will develop Bridges Library System’s public information plan, secure advertising opportunities, and coordinate and implement large-scale advertising and email marketing campaigns. They will develop and execute strategies for outreach and educational activities, manage Bridges Library System websites and social media and assist member libraries with website design and content creation. They will create and distribute digital and print materials promoting our member libraries, as well as system-wide services and products, and provide assistance and consultation to member library staffs regarding marketing and design needs.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* High level interpersonal skills.
* The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with member libraries, system and county staff, system board, community agencies, and the general public.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency using WordPress.
* Proficiency using Microsoft Office products.
* Thorough understanding of digital print production.
* The ability to manage multiple social media channels.
* The ability to train others on marketing tools and related concepts.
* The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
The 2023 starting hourly rate range is $29.14 to $33.84 (depending on qualifications; full range extends to $38.52) coupled with a comprehensive compensation and benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, generous paid time off, participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System, amongst many other benefits, employees are recognized and valued through a pay for performance system. Successful candidates will be eligible for performance-based merit increases and non-base performance awards.

You must meet these minimum Training and Experience requirements:
1. Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, public relations, communications, or a closely related field.
2. Three (3) years of responsible professional work experience in marketing, communications, public relations, media-related activities, legislative or policy research, or a closely related field, preferably in the public sector.
3. A master’s degree in an area listed above may substitute for one year of the required work experience.
